Amsterdam, January 2012

Dear Reader,

You are a member of the International Council on Archives. We think you will value our need to find the right person in your organization to send a letter of invitation to a conference we are organizing this coming August.

We believe our conference will benefit the people in your organization that are making, or considering making, LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) histories available. They will learn, and they will get in touch with people in community archives they can partner with to be successful. The conference is the start of an 8 year project that we think your organization will want to be part of.

The conference is LGBTI ALMS 2012 - International Archives, Libraries, Museums and Special Collections CONFERENCE on the Future of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Histories. It will be held at the Amsterdam Public Library from 1-3 August 2012.

We have a vision. By 2020, the heritage of LGBTI individuals and the LGBTI community is collected and recognized in Europe and globally as part of the cultural wealth of society. This will happen because LGBTI ALMS organizations and local and national heritage organizations collaborate.

We would like you to answer the following three questions:
On behalf of Lonneke van den Hoonaard, director of IHLIA, the International Gay and Lesbian Information Center and Archive, we would like to thank you again for your time! We look forward to working together in the future
